The Garden Ice Arena Hockey Skills Clinics offer young hockey players a fun, fast-paced environment to develop and refine their skills. Designed for youth athletes of all levels, the clinics focus on skating, puck handling, shooting, and game awareness through structured drills and small-area games.

Led by experienced coaches, players receive positive instruction that builds confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game while helping them reach their full potential on the ice.

Fall 2026 - Hockey Strength & Conditioning – Additional Dryland Training
$90.00

Looking for additional off-ice training beyond your team’s weekly dryland session?

Led by Todd Johnson, Performance Coach and Athletic Trainer, this 6-week program is designed to help hockey players develop the strength, speed, and power that translates to the ice.

To achieve speed and power on the ice, athletes must first develop those attributes on the ground. Sessions will focus on:

• Core strength
• Explosive power
• Speed and acceleration
• Hockey-specific strength and movement
• Overall athletic development

Ages: 13 & Older
Day: Tuesdays
Time: 6:20 - 7 PM
Location: The Garden Ice Arena
Length: 6 Weeks 9/15 - 10/20
Cost: $90 per player
Class Size: Minimum 10 / Maximum 24 players

This is an optional second dryland session each week for players looking for additional strength and conditioning work beyond their regular team training.

Space is limited to 24 athletes.

Strength & Conditioning

Fall 2026 - Learn to Play/8U

Designed for 2018 birth years and younger, as well as older players who are brand new to the game, this program focuses on building a strong foundation in the core skills of hockey.

Players will work on skating, passing, shooting, and stickhandling through engaging, station-based practices with an emphasis on fun small-area games that promote confidence and puck touches.

Learn to Skate

Fall 2026 - Youth & Adult Learn to Skate

Learn to Skate is the foundation of all skating programs at The Garden Ice Arena. Whether your goal is to play hockey, figure skate, or simply enjoy skating, this is the perfect place to start. Each class includes 30 minutes of professional instruction followed by 30 minutes of practice during a supervised public skate.

Fall Session 1 (6 Weeks)

Classes begin the week of September 14

Lower Levels

  • Mondays: 6:15–7:15 PM (beginning September 14)

  • Thursdays: 1:00–2:00 PM (beginning September 17)

Advanced

  • Sundays: 9:00 AM (beginning September 20)

Fall Session 2 (6 Weeks)

Classes begin the week of November 2

Lower Levels

  • Mondays: 6:15–7:15 PM (beginning November 2)

  • Thursdays: 1:00–2:00 PM (beginning November 5)

  • Saturdays: 10:30–11:30 AM (beginning November 7)

Advanced

  • Sundays: Time TBD (beginning November 8)

No classes the week of November 23 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Must have Garden Skating Academy Annual Membership - $30.00
Pay only once per year. 2025-2026 membership expires 6/30/2026. New 2026-2027 membership will not expire until 6/20/2027.

If signing more than one skater, please fill out a separate form for each skater.

Our Coaching Experience

The Hockey Skill Camps are led by the experienced Garden Ice Arena coaching staff. Our coaches bring a strong background in youth hockey instruction and focus on teaching proper fundamentals, skill progression, and game understanding in a positive and motivating environment.

Each clinic is structured to ensure players receive quality instruction, individual feedback, and an engaging on-ice experience that helps build confidence and a love for the game.
