Our skills camps

The Garden Ice Arena Hockey Skills Clinics offer young hockey players a fun, fast-paced environment to develop and refine their skills. Designed for youth athletes of all levels, the clinics focus on skating, puck handling, shooting, and game awareness through structured drills and small-area games.

Led by experienced coaches, players receive positive instruction that builds confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game while helping them reach their full potential on the ice.

Learn to Play/8U

Summer 2026 - Learn to Play/8U

Designed for 2018 birth years and younger, as well as older players who are brand new to the game, this program focuses on building a strong foundation in the core skills of hockey.

Players will work on skating, passing, shooting, and stickhandling through engaging, station-based practices with an emphasis on fun small-area games that promote confidence and puck touches.

Schedule:

  • Session 1: Wednesday 6/10 - 7/15 (OFF 7/1/26)

Take your game to the next level with our specialized Goalie Clinics. These sessions focus on the key fundamentals every goalie needs to succeed, including movement in the crease, proper technique, rebound control, and skating efficiency.

Designed for both developing and advanced goalies, each clinic delivers focused reps in a high-quality training environment.

Perfect for goalies looking to improve movement, sharpen technique, and gain confidence in the crease.

Summer Advanced Camp

Program Highlights:

  • 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday)

  • Small group training with multiple coaches

  • Structured development: compete → train → apply

  • On-ice skills + gameplay

  • Dryland training led by Todd Johnson, performance coach at the Renaissance Athletic Center

  • Consistent weekly groups for maximum development

  • Goalie specific instruction with goalie coach

  • Off ice education sessions (hockey 1O, injury prevention, nutrition)

  • June 9 & 11

  • June 16 & 18

  • June 23 & 25

  • July 7 & 9

  • July 28 & 30

  • August 4 & 6

Groups + Pricing:

  • Junior ($229/ week) 2016-2019 or older house players w/ 2-3 years playing experience

  • Intermediate ($249/week) 2013-2015 | Travel and / or 4+ years playing experience

  • Advanced ($249/week) 2009-2012 | Advanced Travel | High-Level Training

Daily Schedule:

  • Junior 8:30 Start → Warmup → Gameplay → Off-ice Skills → Dryland → 12:30 Finish

  • Intermediate 8:00 Start → Warmup → Gameplay → Education → Dryland → Off-ice Skills → Ice → 1:40 Finish

  • Advanced 8:00 Start → Warmup → Gameplay → Education→ Off-ice Skills→ Ice → Dryland → 1:40 Finish

Register for at least 4 or 6 weeks for best development and consistency

Group placement may be adjusted based on enrollment to ensure balanced groups and the best experience for all players

Our Coaching Experience

The Hockey Skill Camps are led by the experienced Garden Ice Arena coaching staff. Our coaches bring a strong background in youth hockey instruction and focus on teaching proper fundamentals, skill progression, and game understanding in a positive and motivating environment.

Each clinic is structured to ensure players receive quality instruction, individual feedback, and an engaging on-ice experience that helps build confidence and a love for the game.
