Adult League Info

The Garden Ice Arena is home to Adult Hockey Leagues using a hybrid-draft format.

Why draft leagues?
Our goal is grow the game of hockey for adults in this area and the best way to do that is to ensure players are competing against players with similar skill level. Our preference is more divisions with less teams than one large division with many teams.

How will this work?
You enter draft as a single person.  All players will be rated, captains are chosen for each skill division, and captains draft eligible players. Only players driving long distances, siblings, or family members can request to play on same team together.

How will players be ranked?
For players new to the area, we will have open evaluation sessions by anticipated skill level. Other players will be ranked by captains.

How many players per team?
Depending on number of teams and players in a given division, teams may consist of 12-15 players, goalies not included.

Who can play?
Men and women over the age of 18, of any skill level, from beginner to advanced. We suggest if you have never skated before, you take one of our adult learn to skate classes before joining a league.

How many leagues/divisions will there be?

A League | Experience: High school and above
B League | Experience: 3+ years playing
40 and over/ C league |
For less experienced players or older players looking for slower play
Novice League | Experience: Less than 3 years

What days of the week?
Monday evenings after 8pm, Wednesday evenings, and Sunday evenings. Prefer to have consistent game days for leagues.

How long will this session run?
14 weeks. When a new session begins, new teams will be drafted.
